Total Toy Books and Palitoy Legend Bob Brechin Announce Expanded Anniversary Edition of 'My Palitoy Story'
On January 29th, 1966, a phenomenon debuted at the British Toy Fair that would change the industry forever. Action Man didn't just become a bestseller; he became the "Toy of the Year" and, eventually, the "Toy of the Decade."
Exactly 60 years to the day since that historic debut, author and former Palitoy Chief Designer Bob Brechin, in partnership with Brian Hickey, is proud to announce the return of the award-winning My Palitoy Story.
This 60th Anniversary Expanded Edition moves to a new, accessible softcover format and grows from 256 to 288 pages. The update features 32 pages of brand-new content, including never-before-seen archival photos and deep-dive text focused on the development of Action Man. It also includes some personal incites by other former Palitoy employees.
"We wanted to honour the 60th milestone by making this history available to a wider audience while adding the 'lost' stories of Action Man's development," says Bob Brechin.
Fans can follow the project now on Kickstarter to be notified of the late February launch, which will include exclusive "Early Bird" rewards and a limited "Commando" tier.
